life in the district/capital(must be five or more sentences)- She had a fairly easy life in the district, get up, go to school, and start all over. The only problem was when her father started to get so mad that he would hit her mother. Her big brother tried to keep this from her but Kane figured it out anyway. One afternoon an especially big fight broke out and her father started to beat on her mother with amazing ferocity. Her big brother, Kenny, couldn’t take the sight of his mother being beaten within an inch of her life and he tried to break it up. Her father put up one hell of a fight and while Kenny was locked in combat with her father he told her to go get help, to run as fast as she could. So she ran, and she ran hard. But by the time she had gotten back with help the situation had escalated and her father was holding Kenny at gunpoint. Kane didn’t know what this rusted chunk of metal her father was holding was so she started to run up to him. The only thing the father saw was a blur of movement and he took aim and fired. The last thing Kane remembered was an awful pain in her shoulder and the sounds of the Peacekeeper’s guns going ballistic.

He had her tiny hand clasped firmly in his meaty palms as he stared emotionless ahead of them. As they came around the bend to their house she could hear muffled shouts from the kitchen. Her small face lifted to her brother’s larger one “Kenny, why are they shouting?” She said softly, waiting for an answer. His eyes flashed to hers for a moment, full of pity. “I don’t know, just get inside and go straight to the bedroom, do you understand me?” He said gruffly, kneeling down to her level. She nodded solemnly and got ready to bolt.
